Rania’s Makestar Account Closed, Which Confirms My Theory About Alexandra

Back in November girl group Rania announced the addition of Kpop’s first black idol, Alexandra. At first it sounded like Korea and Korean music was at the beginning stages of incorporating real diversity to reflect it’s new, international fanbase. However, that ray of hope quickly got blacked out. Rania released their MV for Demonstrate immediately after the announcement, but Alexandra was nowhere to be found, the reason allegedly being there was a visa issue and they had decided to film the video anyway. She made a very short appearance during their comeback stage, which was again suspicious. The agency tried to fix the problem by releasing a modified version of the MV that only featured original 10 second teaser video used to announce her addition to the group.

By then, I was pretty sure that DR Music was using Alexandra’s being black to get them some media attention and then with enough hype get fans to give them money to fund their next comeback under the guise of an “American advancement.”

Well, now that theory is pretty much confirmed for me with the announcement from Makestar that DR Music has not been giving any updates on how the development of the album is going and thus the group’s fund is closed and that donor’s will be refunded:

“Hello, this is Makestar.

We have an announcement for the honorary producers to the RaNia project. Despite making numerous requests to DR Music concerning information regarding the project progress, Makestar has not received any further information.

The opening, and closing of Makestar projects are by rule determined solely by the project’s creator.

However, due to the continued irresponsible behavior and stance taken by the RaNia project creator, and our unwillingness to ignore the inconvenience this is causing to the project participants, Makestar has decided to refund all funds accrued through the project.

We would like to thank the Star Makers who have waited thus far for news on the RaNia project, and we offer our regret in the outcome.

For those wishing for a refund, please send your request to: help_en@makestar.co

When you send us your request, please include the following information for quicker processing.

Your pledge number
Name
E-mail (the one used to sign up at Makestar)
Method of payment / Card Company
Once again, we offer our regret to those who have participated in the RaNia project. Thank you.

Sincerely, Makestar”

I honestly feel scammed because at first I really thought this was a real thing.
