As you have probably heard by now, Jia chosen not to renew her contract with JYP and thus has left Miss A.
“We cheer on Jia and wish for more success in her future as we’ve been with each other for a long time. We have finished renewing Fei‘s contact and we will support her to the best of our abilities in her Chinese and Korean activities. Suzy and Min’s contracts have their terms left. Miss A will remain together and they will mostly revolve around solo activities.” (Source: Koreaboo)
AND, as per usual, JYP is denying that this is the end of the group. It’s unfortunate, but much like with Minzy’s departure from 2ne1, I am not even remotely shocked by this move. I’ve said so many times that JYP needed to carve up this group and make units out of them or they weren’t going to last long. Since the minute Suzy became a hot commodity in the acting world, JYP has continually pushed Miss A further down the totem poll, and TWICE’s recent debut was most likely the straw that broke the camel’s back. Miss A as a whole has been severely neglected by JYP, and while Fei has managed to get a little acting career popping in Korea and China, everyone else hasn’t been up to much. Therefore, it was only natural for Jia to leave.
