I’m a little late to the game, but I recently came across the preview stage by the contestants of MNET’s trainee survival program, Produce 101:

THIS is exactly what’s wrong with Kpop today (Oh lord I sound like a jaded miserable ol’ fart). Having these 101 girls perform the same dance while dressed exactly the same, sounding exactly the same is exactly how I know what ever comes from this program will be of no interest from me.

From the start I see no encouragement for originality, and that is a problem and metaphor for the bigger issue that is the Kpop music scene right now. Basically, we’re off to a bad start.
