B.A.P Follows in Block B Footsteps, Files to Nullify Contract As A Group

B.A.P

B.A.P has joined the list of Kpopalypse casualties. B.A.P filed a lawsuit on November 26th to nulify their contract with agency, TS Entertainment.

The members’ reason for the lawsuit is a few things, but nothing we haven’t heard already. Overpacked schedules which has led to health issues, the reason behind the canceling of their South American tour, and an unfair contract that holds them to TS for 7 years, beginning at the release of their 1st album as opposed to the day it was signed, and an unfair division of profits.

This was TS’ statement after the filing was confirmed:

TS Entertainment has always worked to aid B.A.P in diversifying their activities and have put our all into working towards a mutual goal. B.A.P has minimized all official schedules, as was stated on October 28th through their official channel, and it was through a mutual understanding and with all parties’ consent.

We were in the midst of discussing future plans regarding the agreement of artists when we heard about the lawsuit through reports. We are still confirming the details, but ‘unfair terms’ and ‘slave contracts’ mentioned in several of the reports are not true. We never treated our artists unfairly. We are trying to find the truth behind this supposed lawsuit as fast as possible in order to act officially.”

Ooo TS, you should have treated these boys better! Money wise they were/are your crown jewels. I feel more relieved that this is happening as a group. As we saw with the shining example that is Block B, things go smoother if this is done as a group, a united front. However, the issue is Stardom Entertainment and Block B’s split was amicable which allowed them to come back to us and promote in a relatively short amount of time, but based on TS Entertainment’s statement this lawsuit came as a shock, a real EXO-esque move, so this could get messy. But, only time will tell, so stay tuned for more info as it is released.
