[Review] Shim Eun Kyung is Impressive As “Miss Granny”

Miss Granny, one of South Korea’s top film of the year, was a box office smash and solidified Shim Eun Kyung’s career as one of the upcoming child-actor stars to look out for. After appearing in 3 commercial hit films, you will no doubt add Shim Eun Kyung to your top actress list by the end of this movie.

Na Moon Hee who plays Oh Mal Soon, a 70 year old grandmother, one day mysteriously finds herself in the body of her 20 year old self, played by Shim Eun Kyung. Shenanigans ensue as Mal Soon becomes Oh Doori, forced to adjust to her new life style like calling her grandson, “oppa”. ‘Be careful for what you wish for’ resonates as she is faced with obstacles she must endure in order to keep her secret.

Shim Eun Kyung is definitely the star where she transforms into a foul-mouthed, stubborn, young woman and impresses enough to win Best Actress at the prestigious 50th Baeksang Art Awards. Sweeping up multiple awards, the film saw an increase in popularity that as a result, created a Chinese remake scheduled for release in winter 2014!

Miss Granny is THE feel good, comedy of the year, touching on the stereotypical response of senior citizens and a satire on the Korean entertainment industry. It will have you laughing till you cry as well as share heart-warming moments with family and friends.

Starring Shim Eun Kyung, Na Moon Hee, Lee Jin Wook, Jinyoung of B1A4, Sung Dong IlPark In Hwan and Kim Seulgi!
