Report Card:

[Grade Scale: A-F]

Originality:

Ji Eun seems to be on the same boat as Kahi, and Lee Hyori, and is helping to usher in this new concept of video fashion where the custom made flashy costumes have no place, and I like it. Ji Eun is reminding me of Adele actually in that she’s just dressing well, and making the music the star.

Real Life Ready:

Ji Eun doesn’t just stand out among other female artists for her vocal ability, but also for her body. She isn’t stick thin like the majority of Kpop, and so Secret’s stage costumes are never flattering for her. However, this comeback Ji Eun was styled impeccable. I don’t think there was a moment she looked bad, and all she did was dress like how any regular girl would dress. Everything she wore in this video, she could have wore just walking down the street. As a testament to how easy it is to replicate Song Ji Eun’s looks, this fan was able to do her own remix on Ji Eun’s blue and white blouse.

Styling/Execution:

Like I said before Ji Eun is stand out with her figure, and she was styled perfectly for her body type. Not once did she look squeezed, nothing was inappropriately short, it was all good. My favorite look of her hers from the video was the look below where she paired open toe, ankle boots, a crop top, and the plaid skirt by Steve J & Yoni P. She showed off just the right amount of skin, and she looked hot!

Concept:

Here’s the tricky part. I think the concept was a little funky. She’s singing about the back and forth of a relationship, and she doesn’t need any fancy costume to portray that, however she had a biblical reference with the nailed hands, and I was completely thrown off. For the concept of a heartbroken girlfriend, the styling of this video is just fine, but for some of the imagery that is taking place, the fashion seems to fall short.
