About Oddness Weirdness:

This post has been percolating in my brain for a few months now, but I couldn’t quite think of how I wanted to vent my frustrations on this subject without coming across like a raving lunatic.  I’m referring to how much it pisses me off that some of these Kpop idols seem to never really get much of a break between (or during) their myriad comebacks and promotions…. Even when they get hurt.

We all know it’s true.  We’ve seen multiple instances of idols working through their exhaustion and pain, looking like they’re about to drop.  Sometimes they actually do drop.   Need some examples?  How about this:

EXO‘s Kai and Tao limping away from a showcase last year:

f(x)‘s Krystal fainting on stage:

MBLAQ‘s Seungho fainting while onstage:

Onew from SHINee said in a Nylon Magazine interview in February:

Q: When do you get annoyed the most?
A: When I’m tired and several things overlap with each other. When I’m tired from working all day and they don’t give me food and when my body hurts.

Q: When did you have the hardest time?

A: The 1~2 years right after debuting was hard on me. Our schedule was seriously packed. It was to the point where we slept for a total of 8 hours during a week.

Then Taemin reiterated with:
Q: What are you interested in lately?
A: I don’t have anything to be interested in since all I do is practice but I start to think a lot. My thoughts keep going on and on.
How do you not have anything that interests you?  What do you mean, “When they won’t give me food”?  That’s just all kinds of depressing right there.
How about the fact that B.A.P has staged a comeback 193,820 times in the last year and a half, and yet they haven’t gotten a break longer than 6 days?  I read somewhere that they said they don’t want to take a break, but I’m not buying it.  Those boys look tired as hell sometimes.
Jonghyun looks like he's about to fall over at Sukira radio show in March.

SHINee’s Jonghyun said it himself: SHINee hasn’t had a real break in 8 years.  When they do, it’s short and it’s televised for the whole world to see.
What kind of crap is that?  You know you’d be mad as hell if your place of business worked you almost to death for a few years, then told you you could take a 3 day vacation… but they’d be filming it.   I know I’d be flipping tables. The SHINee boys, however, were happy as hell.  Sad!
Meanwhile, there are some idols that seem to go on vacation every 5 seconds, like Super Junior and JYJ.

JYJ's Yoochun celebrates his birthday in Bali.

Is it because they’ve been around longer and have paid their dues?   Who knows.
How about this, guys:  Next time you go on vacation, bring some of your dongsaengs with you.  You can help them lower their stress levels… and make sure I don’t pop a blood vessel.   ‘K, thanks?  Bye.

  1. Lmao @ Suju and JYJ going on vacation every 5 seconds. Haha!

I’ve also read before how some groups “like working all the time.” Pfft. You have to be a real fool to believe that. -Salima

    1. Lol well you know, I like to exaggerate. Yeah right @ liking to work all the time. Noone likes to work ALL THE TIME. Come on now.
