About Oddness Weirdness:
Erika hails from New Jersey and first become obsessed with Kpop when she watched Rain in “Ninja Assassin” a few years ago. She’s always loved fashion and music, so the Oddness/Weirdness Kpop blog was a foregone conclusion.
This post has been percolating in my brain for a few months now, but I couldn’t quite think of how I wanted to vent my frustrations on this subject without coming across like a raving lunatic. I’m referring to how much it pisses me off that some of these Kpop idols seem to never really get much of a break between (or during) their myriad comebacks and promotions…. Even when they get hurt.
We all know it’s true. We’ve seen multiple instances of idols working through their exhaustion and pain, looking like they’re about to drop. Sometimes they actually do drop. Need some examples? How about this:
EXO‘s Kai and Tao limping away from a showcase last year:
f(x)‘s Krystal fainting on stage:
MBLAQ‘s Seungho fainting while onstage:
Onew from SHINee said in a Nylon Magazine interview in February:
Q: When do you get annoyed the most?A: When I’m tired and several things overlap with each other. When I’m tired from working all day and they don’t give me food and when my body hurts.
Q: When did you have the hardest time?
A: The 1~2 years right after debuting was hard on me. Our schedule was seriously packed. It was to the point where we slept for a total of 8 hours during a week.
Q: What are you interested in lately?
A: I don’t have anything to be interested in since all I do is practice but I start to think a lot. My thoughts keep going on and on.
