This morning Nichkhun of 2pm tweeted an apology, in English, for his drunk driving accident:
“I would like to write this letter of apology for such an irresponsible act. To the injured person, his family, the people of Korea, my fans, JYPE family and staffs, 2PM members, and all the people this situation has affected. I have betrayed the ones who have given me their love and support, the love and support I don′t deserve with such behavior. I feel the need to take some time off to re-think about my action and myself, to make myself a better person and never again repeat the same mistake. I am truly ashamed that I have disappointed so many, and I am deeply sorry.”
Following his apology a representative for JYP Entertainment released another apology as well information on Nichkhun’s actives.
“Nichkhun wishes to sincerely apologize for the fault he committed in Korea, where he was loved by the public for the last five years like family. He said he wishes to take some time off for self-reflection for a while and then meet his fans and the citizens of Korea with a new heart…We decided to take up Nichkhun’s opinion and have him be absent from the August JYP Nation Korea and Japan concert, as well as the JYP Fan’s Day. We are also trying to talk over other future schedules, and for those that have already been put into contract, we will try hard to reach an agreement that doesn’t hurt the other party…We wish to apologize about the incident that occurred due to our artist’s actions, and we will try to prevent any more such incidents from occurring,”
In addition to not participating in the JYP Nation concerts, JYP Fan’s Day, and going on hiatus for a while to reflect Nichkhun was dropped from Samsung ads for ′Galaxy S3 Stadium’ and replaced with Sistar’s Hyorin.
